Mumford & Sons Tour Texas – Live in Austin

Austin is where I caught a live performance during Mumford & Sons Tour Texas. I’ve never seen a band control an audience like Mumford & Sons.

In early 2000 I saw Slipknot at the Hollywood Palladium, in the middle of the show, Corey Taylor announced that they were filming a video and they were about to do something unreal and we were going to be a part of it. He then explained that everyone in the pit should sit on the floor and when the song kicked in, everyone was going to jump up and lose their “F-ing Minds”. Actually, I think about 3/4 of the pit sat down.

Mumford & Sons on the the other hand asked the audience to be quiet. That’s the not as funny and a lot more polite version of what he actually said. The Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas is a pretty big venue and there were a lot of people there. When Marcus Mumford spoke, the audience obeyed. It was pretty amazing to to go from loud music and fans cheering to almost silence. There’s always gonna be a few drunks not willing to participate, but I still think they pulled it off.
